An Ember In Time
Anna M. Aquino is a published author and guest speaker. We have conducted an interview with her about her recent book "An Ember In Time" which is a Fiction Book about Time Travel.
With a short paragraph, how would you describe your book, “An Ember In Time” to readers?
An Ember In Time is like Quantum Leap meets Back to the Future in an adventure of epic Biblical consequences. It centers on Jon a disgruntled pastor who gets a visit from an angel named Sergio. Sergio was sent by God to let Jon go anywhere in Biblical history that he wants to see. The idea is witnessing a famous story in the Bible would help change his attitude. Instead, Jon accidently messes up history and he as the stop the Bible from unraveling. This book has angels, demons, and is an adventure in the supernatural. This is the first book in a trilogy. If an angel appeared in your office tomorrow and asked you, “Where do you want to go in history,” what would you answer?
What inspired you to write this fiction book?
I am currently working on my 26th book. This is my 3rd published. I am more known for nonfiction, but I actually write more fiction. A few years ago I found myself in a bit of a rut in my writing, especially in the fiction. I realized I kept writing historical romances and while there is nothing wrong with those, I wanted to break out of that box. I have always been a huge Back to the Future and Quantum Leap fan. My family and I were watching all the episodes of Quantum Leap on Netflix, and somehow my husband and I started to talk about “What if something like this could be done for a faith- based market” and the story launched from there. At first, I had no plan on making this story into a trilogy, but I fell in love with the story and the characters. A Marriage In Time is set to release next summer, and Legacy In Time is still in process of getting a publishing contract.
I realized after it was written the how much most the books being published in a Christian market are following a specific formula, and I find how much readers want something new and outside of the box. I feel this series gives them that.
How long did you take to write your book?
I typically keep a routine while I’m in the writing process. That is for a fiction book I sit down and write about 10 pages at a time. While I may not write every day or every weekday, when I keep to this schedule I can usually write a fiction book in about 2-2.5 months.
Who would you recommend this book to?
I would recommend this book to anyone that wants a fun adventure. It appeals to readers from all ages from 10-120. A lot of readers who are really into fantasy and sci-fi have picked it up and enjoyed it.
In your opinion, what is the most interesting aspect of Time Traveling?
Wow, that’s a good question. I think that the reason why we as humans are so compelled to the idea of time traveling is we like the idea we could go back in time and fix the mistakes we’ve made. In the case of Jon in this book, the idea to actually witness a period of time and see the culture was to help him change his attitude about life. On a personal note I love learning about history, people, and culture so that was one of the things that I really enjoyed about recreating in this book.
Which online show do you host?
I am the host of ‘Real Solutions’ an internet talk show which currently airs on YouTube. We’ve had a couple networks who have wanted it, but we are waiting for the right opportunity. The premise of ‘Real Solutions’ is that “There is a Real God who works in the lives of Real People, and He gives us ‘Real Solutions.” I interview authors, pastors, evangelists, entrepreneurs, and really anyone that has a good God story.
