To Dream with Brooke Chamberlain

Too few of us dare to manifest our dreams. It’s a requirement for an actor to be a dreamer, both in practice and in theory. Australian actress Brooke Chamberlain is one of those few in the world who understood her dreams and followed the course through to manifest them. Growing up in Alstonville (NSW, Australia), a little country town merely twenty minutes from Byron Bay, Brooke followed her brothers and attempted to do whatever they did. This rejection of any limitations is what likely led to her self-confidence. When her talent and said confidence landed her on the set of Lionsgate’s Daybreakers (starring Ethan Hawke, Sam Neil, Willam Defoe, and Claudia Karvan) it was apparent to her and everyone around her that this was her calling. Subsequent appearances in blockbusters like Walt Disney Pictures Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Men Tell No Tales starring Johnny Depp and Javier Bardem vetted this fact. Chamberlain’s career thus far has been the eclectic life of an actress with different roles and the accumulation of recognition and fans. At a time when the entertainment industry seems constantly evolving, there’s perhaps no one better suited to navigate this modern era.

Numerous acclaimed films and roles make up the resume of this Australian actress. 2012 Revenge Thriller Daddy’s Little Girl saw Brooke as a goth teen whose brother had been tortured and murdered. Melissa (her character) plays a key role in the story which earned six Australian Screen Industry Network Awards including Best Feature Film. The following year she appeared in 2013’s Australian Screen Industry Network Awards Best Feature Film Winner Phoenix Rising. Her performance as Krystal, a young woman in a very difficult environment who struggles to provide for her young daughter, was lauded by critics for her ability to portray someone with a harsh exterior but a heart of gold. Earlier this year Chamberlain became Hayley Green in the short film Rogue Roy. Her role as a superhero was drastically different from the struggling/wounded roles previously mentioned. The actress relates, “I really loved Hayley as a character. She’s a strong fierce woman who is sexy and oozes confidence. As a woman, it’s so rewarding to really feel in control of your sexuality and truly love yourself for who you are. I feel like playing this role taught me a lot about confidence and reassured me that we are capable of anything we put out mind to.”

While Brooke reaffirms that her search for the discovery of different characters through film roles is her primary goal, she’s also willing to pursue other entertainment projects that come her way such as hosting “Fashion News Live” for Amazon Prime programming. The show focuses on the celebrities of the fashion world. As the host, Chamberlain interviewed fashion icons and well-known names involved in the fashion world. She notes, “I was so lucky to be flown across the world and host for FNL Network, which was an incredible experience, interviewing celebrities such as Abby Cornish (SAG Award winner for Three Billboards Outside Ebbing Missouri) along with Victoria Secret Model Sara Sampaio and a number of fashion Guru’s from around the world. It was such a unique experience.” Traversing the globe to exotic locations like Paris, Milan, and Tel Aviv, Chamberlain found that the core of being a great host was similar to that of an actress in the sense that the most important component was communication with an emphasis on listening.

Chamberlain will soon be seen in the upcoming feature film The Dunes as Emma, a young real estate agent with a heart of gold who cares deeply for those around her. What seems to be a noncontroversial small town becomes a journey of self-discovery for a native son who returns home and is confronted with the fact that nothing stays covered up forever. This Thriller, filmed in Melbourne and across Australia, is set to be released next year. Brooke confirms that the future is busy stating, “I have a film later this year that I’ve agreed to be the lead on but am unable to speak much about. I have also signed on for a project next year called My Reprisal produced by G Mac Brown (Billions, Australia, The Dark Tower, The Upside, Men in black 3) which is also very exciting and am look forward to working on.”
